OTTAWA, ON – (Sept 10, 2008) It is a tradition at many running races to hold a carbo-loading pasta dinner the night before. The inaugural Canada Army Run plans to go one step further: Not only will they be serving their dinner in army-style field kitchens, but it will be catered by popular restaurateurs Steve and Helga Galla of Galla’s Heritage Ristorante in Cumberland. News of the Galla partnering with military cooks to serve the pasta dinner caused the event to sell out within weeks.
“We are very proud to sponsor the first Canada Army Run, “said Steve and Helga Galla. “We are really honoured to have been asked to show our support of Canada’s men and women in uniform and we’re excited to be part of such a special event.”
“I don’t know of another race that will have a pasta dinner quite like ours,” said Major Chris Horeczy, Canada Army Run Director. “Galla’s Heritage Ristorante has a reputation for excellence and I have no doubt that the runners who have been lucky enough to get a ticket will come away impressed.”
Running Room founder and president, John Stanton, will be the featured guest speaker at the dinner.
Galla Heritage Risorante is located at 2607 Old Montreal Road in Cumberland Village. You can find them at www.gallaheritage.com / 613-833-3000.
